The purpose of A-Level Film Studies is primarily to ignite a passion for film.
The course aims to engagement with broader cultural and historical perspectives as well as developing understanding of theories around spectatorship, ideology, narrative and film form. It also aims to give an insight to the historical development of the film industry.
The course aims to challenge students through exposure to some culturally and historically diverse films.
All of this aims to create critical abilities and give an insight to prepare them for the potential to work in the media.
