Invitation to an Open Space Event at Worcester Royal Porcelain Works

We have an exciting idea – but we need your help!

Worcester can be a wonderful place to live, work, study and visit. But for people who are blind or vision impaired Worcester poses many challenges that sighted people might never contemplate.  We want to change that.

New College Worcester, in collaboration with the city’s theatre, learning and digital tech company C&T, have secured a grant from the National Lottery’s Awards For All Scheme.

We want to make a new app for smartphones that makes the city’s streets, shops and services more accessible to VI people whilst at the same time giving our sighted neighbours the chance to experience the city from the perspective of a person with a vision impairment.

We have lots of ideas of how to do this, however, we want everyone in Worcester to feel part of the process. If you or a member of your family is VI, if you run a shop or business and want to be more welcoming, or just think you have a skill or perspective to share, we would like you to join us for a free and open discussion on 8th December.

The event is free and open to all. The Royal Porcelain Works is fully accessible. Refreshments are available.

Apart from our big idea we are open to all your thoughts, thinking and perspectives. Our project and app will be better for your contribution!
