Children in Need Celebrations at College

This week, our college was buzzing with excitement as we joined together to support the wonderful cause of Children in Need. Organised by our Year 10 ASDAN students, the activities during break time were a shining example of teamwork, creativity and community spirit.

As part of their ASDAN award, the students were tasked with arranging a fundraiser and they truly rose to the challenge! The result was a break time filled with laughter fun and generosity.

One of the standout activities was the traditional “Throw a Sponge at the Teachers”. This year, Vice Principal Mr Farr and Assistant SENCO Mr Styles stepped up as willing participants, showing incredible bravery as they faced an enthusiastic crowd armed with sponges. While they were a little cold and wet afterwards, their good spirits and sense of humour helped make the activity a hit. The activity was made accessible to our students by staff clapping in the direction to which they needed to throw. This worked well and the teachers certainly got very wet!

In addition to this, there was a tombola and a cake sale featuring an array of delicious treats. Students and staff also enjoyed an ever popular non-uniform day, creating a cheerful vibe throughout the college.

The event not only brought smiles to faces but also demonstrated the compassion and generosity of our school community. The funds raised will go directly to supporting Children in Need, a charity that makes a significant difference in the lives of children and young people across the UK.

If you haven’t had the chance to contribute yet, there is still time to donate! You can visit our fundraising page by clicking here. Every penny counts and goes towards changing lives for the better.

Please take a moment to watch the video below, which captures the highlights of this joyful and meaningful day.

Thank you to everyone who participated, donated and supported this effort. Together, we have made a difference!
