NCW student Zaki, recently had the incredible opportunity to meet his favourite author, Louie Stowell, during an event held at Birmingham Library organised by Calibre Audio. Louie Stowell, renowned for her exciting and imaginative books, has been a source of inspiration for Zaki. Zaki even managed to get an autograph!
Organized by the lesser-known charity, Calibre Audio, which provides audiobooks for the blind and partially sighted, the event was a perfect match for Zaki’s passion for books. Zaki is a passionate advocate of the charity – as they are such a lifeline for the VI community. After the event, Zaki eagerly penned a review detailing his experience and enthusiasm for the event, which he has shared with the school. Alongside the review, Zaki also provided a few photos capturing the special moment of meeting his literary hero!
At NCW, we love hearing about our students’ achievements outside of school hours, and we’re especially thrilled that Zaki’s vision impairment isn’t getting in the way of his passion for books!
