We are delighted that the artwork of NCW students has been featured in the ‘Young Voices New Visions’ exhibition at Worcester Cathedral, opening on Sunday 26th May until Sunday 23rd June.

This annual exhibition by Severn Arts, showcases the artistic talent of children and young people from across Worcestershire, provides the perfect opportunity to show how we enable our students to access and enjoy Art by using tactile materials, models and adapted resources.

Years 7 and 8 have focussed on the title “The World Beneath Our Feet” and have explored the insect world and what it would be like if it was magnified.

Year 9 have looked at the title “The Sky Above Us” and each student has expressed what they think the sky looks like at sunrise, sunset, at night and during a thunder and lightning storm. Some students have added 3D pieces to represent what they might see in the sky at that time.

If you would like to find out more about the exhibition, please visit their website.

We value Art as part of the curriculum at NCW and our students are given the same experiences in Art as in main stream education but with adaptations. These come in the form of tactile materials, models or adapted resources. If you would like to find out more about art at NCW and how it is made accessible to someone with a vision impairment, please visit the art pages on our website.

Below are photographs of some of the amazing artwork our students have created which are on display in the cathedral.
