As with every year at NCW, we like to end the summer term with a week jam-packed full of fun activities for students – and although the circumstances this year are somewhat different, it certainly didn’t stop us!
Both students and staff are now very experienced using digital technology such as Google Meet and Google Hangout, so it only seemed right that we continued to run our annual programme of summer activities using our ‘new normal’!
It wouldn’t be the end of the summer term without our beloved Sports Day! Mrs Price, Head of PE, ran a virtual Sports Day to kick off the week with a whole school warm up, followed by challenging students to complete three events: Endurance, The Hill Climb and The Pentathlon!
It was great to see our students having fun and getting involved from home – parents couldn’t resist having a go either!
Mrs Christie and Mrs Jones launched the ‘We Will Rock You’ musical which we will look forward to watching next term, and students could also get involved in a quiz, arts and crafts, treasure hunts and lots of LEGO!
Ms Molina, Head of Modern Foreign Languages, also organised a virtual scavenger hunt which was great fun.
Maybe more than ever, our activity week was a wonderful opportunity for students to see and chat with their friends before breaking up for the summer – a small interaction which we are all very much missing and appreciating at the moment.
We’ll see you in September!
