As with every year, the long awaited approach to exam results day is filled with mixed emotions. Once again however, NCW have been delighted with some fabulous results which are a true testament to the determination of our hardworking students!
Some wonderful examples include Ilya, who has achieved a Grade 8 in his Russian GCSE after working extremely hard to learn the entire Russian alphabet in Braille, and meeting with Russian volunteer Daniel on a regular basis to study.
Jack achieved his target of 5 in GCSE Mathematics which is a brilliant accomplishment to be acknowledged alongside the additional challenges Jack faces in his learning.
Martha received a 9 in English Literature (of which only 2% in the UK achieve!), 7 in English Language and 7 in History. She also achieved a Distinction in her UWLQ Level 2 Certificate in Musical Theatre, during which she made the Examiner cry!
Paige wowed us all by attaining straight A’s in English Literature, Spanish and History A Levels!
Whilst great results are very satisfying to divulge – all students at NCW are to be congratulated for their accomplishment. Each one has made great progress – in A Levels, AS Levels, GCSEs, BTecs and other courses to develop social skills and independent living skills.
Nic Ross, Principal of New College Worcester is thrilled: “Congratulations to all of the students at NCW who have taken exams this summer. Many students have met or exceeded their target grades in all subjects and all students will be able to go to their first choice of university. Very well done!”
It is a privilege to be a part of the lives of these young people and it is with great pride that we celebrate their academic accomplishments and the personal development as they continue on their NCW journeys.
