Exciting things are happening in the Art Room!

We are thrilled to share the inspiring artwork of NCW student Zander, who is currently working on his Art GCSE project centred around Mythical Creatures. Zander is proving that his vision impairment is not a barrier to creativity and self-expression.

For his project, Zander has been diligently crafting stunning dragon-inspired pieces using black sculpting clay. His meticulous attention to detail is evident as he shapes individual scales around a bulging pupil, showcasing his remarkable artistic talent. To further enhance the texture, Zander has ingeniously imprinted the eye with a piece of coral, giving his creations a unique and lifelike quality.

Once the pieces are dry, Zander plans to highlight various areas with gold accents, creating a striking contrast that will enhance the overall impact of his work. This project is a powerful reminder of the importance of art and accessibility for everyone, regardless of visual challenges.

We are incredibly proud of Zander and can’t wait to see the finished pieces!
