News > Year 7 Adventures

Before half term, Year 7 headed off on camp for an exciting few days of activity and adventure.

Blessed with fantastic weather, the group set off for Blackmore campsite, a beautiful, peaceful site in rural Worcestershire, close to the village of Hanley Swan and with views of the Malvern Hills. This was to be their base for the next few days.

The first activity was canoeing on the River Severn. Abi, Chelsea and Caz were the canoeing dream team (according to Caz!) and Kylie followed her tradition of being the only person to get wet by falling in!

Llangorse in South Wales was the destination for climbing and pony trekking in the Brecons. Pony riding went down brilliantly with everyone, from experienced riders Syd and Chelsea to Ebenezer who hadn’t tried riding before but really enjoyed it.

The sun shone down for paddle boarding as Asher, an experienced paddle boarder, shared paddle-boarding tips with everyone – including Caz!

Everyone got very hot spending a sunny day at Little Owl Farm Park feeding the animals and letting off steam on the bouncy pillows.

New bush crafting skills were learnt by all as shelters were built and the group learnt how to safely start a camp fire out in the wild. Syd and Niamh particularly enjoyed making jewellery out of natural materials, and Ilja made some very interesting things out of clay!

Evenings were spent back at camp barbecuing, singing songs around the campfire and enjoying the freedom of the great outdoors.
